   History of Mario
Super Mario bros may not be the first video game plat-former, but maybe the most successful. He was made by Shigeru Miyamoto. The first Mario game was in 1981. Donkey Kong was Mario's debut. Shigeru continued to design it with arcade classics.  He added Donkey Kong, then Popeye, until finally adding Mario into the game. Then he added the 'Mario Bros' adding Luigi as a second player for the game.
After he made his first game, he decided to make more! Before he made the 'Super Mario Bros' he made Pac Man first. Then he finally started making the game. Shigeru Used all the elements from his previous Mario game, but now, it looked so much more real! It was so realistic. But instead of just a single screen game scrolled, they introduced a whole new world for the brothers to traverse. But sadly, though there were 2 players, only 1 player could play each, level, for each player could only play a level solo.
The goal of the game is to rescue Princess Peach also known as Princess Toadstool, who has been kidnapped by Bowser, king of the koopas. the bros have to go through many enemies like Koopa Troopas, Koopa Paratroopas, Little Goombas, and more! To defeat these enemies, they rely on power ups,  like the mushroom, fire-flower, star power, up and more! The levels are filled with parkour, while the screen is moving so you can not back track. The designs have many obstacles, like clouds pyramids and seas(in underwater levels). There are also bonus areas in each level, that give big bonuses, but are hard to get to.
Mario became a huge success braking the record in 2009 with 60.67 million copy's. Mario is a big success and is still loved by us, all the way up into today!
